Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school.

    What is DAFI?

The DAFI program (Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative) is the higher-education scholarship program of UNHCR, the United Nations’ refugee agency. Since 1992, DAFI has enabled more than 15,500 gifted refugees to study at universities and colleges through scholarships.

The DAFI program offers scholarships for undergraduate refugee students that cover a wide range of expenses for academic study, from tuition fees and study materials to food, transportation, accommodation and other allowances. To support their academic achievements and skill development, DAFI scholars receive additional support through close monitoring, and academic preparatory and language classes based on students’ needs, as well as mentoring and networking opportunities.

    Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein (1879-1955) was a renowned physicist and educator who made significant contributions to the field of science and education. Born in Germany, Einstein developed an early love for learning and a strong curiosity about the world around him. He went on to study physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, where he was awarded a PhD in 1905.

Einstein’s theories and discoveries, including the theory of general relativity and the famous equation E=mc^2, helped to revolutionize our understanding of the universe and cemented his place as one of the greatest scientists of all time.

In addition to his scientific contributions, Einstein was also a dedicated educator who believed in the power of education to change the world. He spent much of his later years traveling and lecturing, sharing his insights and knowledge with students and fellow scientists.

Einstein’s educational philosophy was centered around the idea that learning should be interactive and collaborative, and that students should be encouraged to question and think critically. He believed that everyone had the potential to be a great learner, and that education should be accessible to all, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Today, Einstein’s legacy continues to inspire students and educators around the world, and his ideas about education are still studied and revered. He remains an icon of scientific brilliance and a symbol of the power of education to change the world.
